NYRPC
Despite what the mainstream media and the political establishment claim, the people are united on the issues and their solutions.
We agree that our tax system is unfair, we agree workers deserve a living wage, we agree internet is essential, we agree our healthcare system is broken, we agree public schools aren’t adequately educating and preparing students, and we agree that we deserve and are owed a stimulus and jobs program to boost Rural New York.
As the saying goes, if you keep trying the same thing over again, you’re not going to get a different result. So, instead of continuing to divide ourselves based on what ‘team’ we’re on, let’s come together to work on the issues that affect us all here in Rural New York.
Otherwise, our issues are going to continue to go unsolved.
So let’s solve them together. [but for real, not more of the same fake talking points. We’re not going to accept that anymore!]
MISSION
NYRPC mobilizes the people of Rural New York to work together in solving our collective, Rural New York issues.
NYRPC is an Issue-Focused organization that seeks to transform the way we communicate with each other about our collective issues, and to stop using labels that divide us, in order to facilitate constructive dialogue that is policy and solution-focused.
NYRPC welcomes affiliation with like-minded organizations, and seeks to create both formal and informal coalitions, in order to focus on the issues.
Where appropriate, NYRPC will endorse candidates, regardless of political affiliation, for local, state, and federal offices, who advocate for and support the core issues defined by its Vision.
NYRPC centralizes communication and provides organizational, financial, and collaborative infrastructure for partner organizations and the Rural New Yorkers working on solving our issues – together.
To be effective, we must focus on issue-based organizing, without the use of labels or inapplicable criticism not directly related to those issues.
VALUES
There is a very straightforward way to cut through the dissension of political factions.
Drop the labels.
What separates us is when we box each other, or the policies we’re striving for, into corners.
Universal Healthcare isn’t Socialist, Fair Taxation isn’t Conservative, Freedom of Choice isn’t Libertarian, and Quality Public Education isn’t Progressive.
